DUSHANBE, April 2, 2013, Asia-Plus -- The fourth meeting of the Tajik-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will take place in Dushanbe from April 4-5, a source in the Tajik government said.
Tajik Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali and Ukrainian Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing Gennady Temnik are co-chairmen of the commission.
The meeting is expected to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two nations in sectors like energy, industry, transportation, construction, agriculture, science and culture.
The delegations will also consider issues related to training of personnel for Tajikistan at Ukrainian universities, the source said.
The previous third meeting of the commission was held in Kiev, Ukraine from December 5 to December 6, 2011.
According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Ukraine in 2012 valued at some 94 million U.S. dollars. This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to Ukraine estimated at 5 percent and Tajikistan’s imports from Ukraine worth 95 percent.
