DUSHANBE, January 25, 2011, Asia-Plus --The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a loan agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) for construction of a 220kV power transmission line from Khujand to Ayni at a January 24 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered a loan agreement between the Government of Tajikistan and the China Exim Bank for rehabilitation of the Dushanbe-Danghara section of the Dushanbe-Kulob-Khorog-Murgab-Kulma highway.
The board also discussed a bill on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism as well as amendments to the laws on culture, standard acts, etc.
Some of these issues will be considered at a regular sitting of the second session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation on January 26, Sultonov said.
