DUSHANBE, July 2, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also member of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, delivered a statement at the 2nd conference of the International Forum for Islamic Parliamentarians (IFIP) that opened in Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia on July 11, according to IRP’s head office in Dushanbe.
In his statement, Kabiri, reportedly passed an opinion on the latest developments in the international community, Islamic world and Central Asia, the source said.
“During his stay in Kuala Lumpur, IRP leader also held talks with senior representatives from the Islamic Party of Malaysia and invited them to visit Tajikistan,” he said. Kabiri also plans to meet with Tajik students studying in Malaysian universities.
The International Forum for Islamic Parliamentarians (IFIP) was established in Jakarta, Indonesia by 350 Islamic parliamentarians. Today, the forum has 500 members. The main objective of the IFIP is in assisting Islamic parliamentarians with carrying out democratic reforms in Muslim countries.
