DUSHANBE, October 24, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Presidential candidates and their authorized representatives are completing meetings with voters in the northern Sughd province today, Abdumannon Dodoyev, head of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER)’s office, said.
“Today, presidential candidates are meeting with voters in the city of Khujand and a meeting with voters from the city Panjakent and the districts of Ayni and Kuhistoni Mastchoh is taking place in the administrative center of the Ayni district,” Dodoyev told Asia-Plus in an interview.
From October 26 to November 1, presidential candidates will hold meetings with voters in districts of the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan), Khatlon province and the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
Six candidates have officially registered for the 2013 presidential election that will take plce on November 6. In addition to the incumbent President Emomali Rahmon, they are Tolibbek Bukhoriyev from the Agrarian Party; Olim Boboyev from the Party of Economic Reforms; Ismoil Talbakov from the Communist Party; Abduhalim Ghafforov from the Socialist Party; and Saidjaffar Ismonov from the Democratic Party.
