Presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, a government session took place in Dushanbe on March 29, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
The Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda reportedly reported on measures taken to ensure the regular work of the country’s economy during autumn-winter 2024-2025.
The president instructed to approve the action plan for the timely preparation of the economy and social spheres of the country for regular and effective activity during the autumn-winter period and establish the republican commission to effectively implement the measures.
Due to the negative impact of adverse global processes, including climate change, on the country's economy and social spheres, Rahmon reportedly gave specific assignments to the heads of the relevant ministries and agencies to adequately store the necessary materials, save water resources, reduce the technical losses of electricity, collect properly and completely funds for the use of electricity and the promotion of the culture of economy in people's lives.
Ministries and agencies, executive bodies of state power of regions, cities and districts and other enterprises and organizations were obliged to provide detailed information on the implementation of the action plan by the 10th day of each month.
Then, the meeting participants discussed the country’s draft laws on amendments proposed to the laws on payment services and payment system, on baking activities, and free economic zones. The draft laws were submitted for consideration to the country’s lower chamber (Majlis Namoyandagon) of parliament.
They reportedly also discussed issues related to the Action Plan for 2024-2026, the Strategy for Health Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, Agency for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the size and payment procedure of ecological tourism in specially protected natural areas.
