On February 7, 2013, the Deputy Head of OSCE Office in Tajikistan, Hans Peter Larsen and the Chairperson of the Tajik State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management, Davlatali Saidov signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a consultative council on improvement of investment climate in the five districts of the Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan.
According to press release issued by the OSC Office in Tajikistan, the memorandum covers cooperation between the Government and the OSCE Office. It will support the private sector and attract investments into Nourobod, Tojikobod, Rasht, Jirgatol and Tavildara districts.
The Consultative Council will operate as a platform for public-private dialogue to promote economic development and exchange of ideas on economic matters amongst the Government and entrepreneurs from different districts in the Rasht Valley of Tajikistan. The Consultative Council will also serve as a mechanism for local government structures and private sector representatives to develop and propose recommendations to the national governing bodies.
