DUSHANBE, April 25, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), Shukurjon Zuhurov, departed for the Rasht Valley in eastern Tajikistan today morning for a week-long working visit, Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said.
According to him, the main purpose of the visit is for the parliament speaker to meet with residents of districts in eastern Tajikistan to explain them the main points of recent president’s address to the parliament.
Issues related to socioeconomic development of the Rasht Valley and tackling problems facing local residents are also among major topics of the meetings, the spokesman added.
We will recall that MPs have been in the regions since April 23 to meet with their voters.
