DUSHANBE, August 29, 2011, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Tajik Muslims on the occasion of the Eid ul-Fitr that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
In his message that was posted on the presidential official website, Emomali Rahmon, in particular, noted that only under the conditions of independence the people of Tajikistan has gained the right to observe its religious and historical holidays.
The message also notes that a number of measures have been taken in the country in recent years to regulate social, cultural and ethical issues. One of such measures is the law on holding parents responsible for their children’s action and education.
In his message, President Rahmon also says that Tajik nationals must take into account interests of Tajikistan’s people while observing traditional and religious practices.
He also called on well-to-do people to provide assistance to the vulnerable sections of the population during the Eid ul-Fitr holiday.
