DUSHANBE, December 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- President Emomali Rahmon yesterday held a meeting to discuss the pace of the recovery work at the site for construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), according to the presidential press service.
Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov reported on the targeted and efficient use of funds allocated for Roghun’s construction, quality of work, and cooperation with international experts conducting techno-economic, social, and environmental assessments for the Roghun hydropower project.
The head of state pointed to the necessity of carrying out all the recovery works at a high level in cooperation with international experts and stressed that the assessments for the project should be conducted on the basis of transparency.
The project implementation managers were ordered to control targeted use of budgetary funds and funds earned from sale of the Roghun shares.
