DUSHANBE, February 13, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Rehabilitation of the Roudaki and Ayni avenues as part of Dushanbe’s municipal redevelopment plan was the focus of an enlarged meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office that took place on February 13, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office said.
The meeting participants included senior officials from the Dushanbe mayor’s office, law enforcement agencies, members of the Dushanbe legislature, directors of design institutes and local entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the meeting, Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev pointed to the necessity of taking into account interests of householders while rehabilitating the mentioned avenues.
The mayor stressed that persons whose houses in the Roudaki and Ayni avenues will be demolished will receive compensation or a dwelling space of equal worth, the spokesman added.
