DUSHANBE, February 17, 2014, Asia-Plus – In January 2014, Tajikistan produced a total of nearly 828 million somoni (equivalent to more than 172 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to January 2013 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 101.7 percent.

Processing industry reportedly accounted for 66.6 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced last month, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water accounted for 23.3 percent and mining industry accounted for 10.1 percent.

Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 32 items (35.6 percent) increased, and the output of 38 items (42.2 percent) decreased in January 2014.  Twenty basic types of industrial products (22.2 percent) were not manufactured.
