DUSHANBE, March 12, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Current price for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings in Dushanbe fluctuates from 600 USD to 1,700 USD, depending on location, an official source  at the State Unitary Enterprise “Pricing in the Construction Sector” told Asia-Plus Wednesday afternoon.

“In 2012,  the price for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings in the Tajik capital fluctuated from 540 USD to 1,500 USD,” said the source.  “Last year, the price for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province fluctuated from 300 USD to 1,000 USD.”

Real estate prices have risen in other regions of the country as well.

In Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province, the prices for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings rose from 300-600 USD in 2012 to 300-700 USD in 2013.

In Kulob (Khatlon province), the prices for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings rose from 200-350 USD in 2012 to 200-400 USD in 2013.

In Khorog, the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), the prices for a square meter of usable floor space in residential buildings rose from 500-900 USD in 2012 to 700-1,200 USD in 2013, the source added.

According to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, an overall space of 23,200 square meters in residential buildings was made available in Tajikistan in January 2014.  A totaled included 18,000 square meters made available in Khatlon province, 4,000 square meters made available in Sughd province, 1.600 square meters made available in districts subordinate to the center, and 300 square meters made available in Dushanbe.  The Agency for Statistics does not provide information for the GBAO.
