DUSHANBE, April 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – The Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan reports that over the first three months of this year prices and rates for services rendered to the population have increased by 8.2 percent.
The ones that increased most significantly were: airline tickets – 95 percent; bath and shower services – 11 percent; payment for water and sewage services – 8.2 percent; hairdressing and barbering services – 8.1 percent; tickets for rail travel – nearly 8.0 percent; etc.
Prices set by producers in the food industry have risen over the report period 1.6 percent.
In January-March, the prices of foodstuffs have also increased, including a 74-percent rise in prices for cabbages, onions -- 57 percent; carrots – 18 percent, potatoes -- 17 percent; apples – 12 percent; tea – 2.5 percent; mutton – 2.1 percent; beef – 1.6 percent; rice – 0.6 percent each.
Non-foodstuff price index has reportedly remained unchanged over the report period, including inconsiderable rise in prices for some goods and 9.6-percent fall in fuel prices and 0.6-percent fall in cement prices.
According to the Agency for Statistics, inflation for the first three months of this year has stood at 1.3 percent.
