DUSHANBE, June 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Financial results of reporting enterprises and organizations (farming units and small enterprises are not included) for the first quarter of this year have turned out negative and the balance loss over the report period has amounted to 109.7 million somoni against the balance profit of 109.4 million somoni reported in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Over the same three-month period, 45.6 percent of state-run enterprises and organizations have been profitable.
Total profit realized over the report period was reportedly 65.6 percent of the January-March 2013 level or 178.6 million somoni less.
In January-March this year, 34.4 percent of enterprises have been unprofitable. Enterprises in processing industry have reportedly accounted for 43 percent of the overall number of unprofitable enterprises in the country, construction sector – 32.8 percent, and transportation, communications and warehousing – 23.9 percent.
