DUSHANBE, April 13, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon yesterday met with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Daegu, South Korea on the sidelines of the 7th World Water Forum, the world''s largest water event hosted by South Korea in the cities of Daegu and Gyeongju.
The Tajik president’s official website reports Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
A special attention was reportedly paid to trade, transportation, energy and cultural cooperation between the countries.
Tajik and Turkmen leaders, in particular, discussed construction of the Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Turkmenistan railway, the source said.
Rahmon and Berdimuhamedov also discussed a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest, including expansion of cooperation to provide regional security and address modern challenges and threats.
