Dushanbe. 24 August. “Asia Plus” -- Deputy leader of the Social Democratic Party of Tajikistan, Doctor of juridical sciences Shokirjon Khakimov suggests a creation of alternative trade unions in the country.
In an interview to "AP" he said that the legislation of the Republic does not prohibit the creation of such a union.
"The current Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan from the independence of the country, that is for the last 24 years, has ceased to protect the rights and interests of the working people of the republic, and though the word "independent” in its name, the state is totally dependent on the authorities," - said the politician.
The politician believes that there are mass of human rights violations in the labor market of the country. "Sometimes people for many years cannot go on vacation, their working day is not standardized, in the country where from free, guaranteed by the Constitution, education and health was almost nothing left, the trade unions of Tajikistan prefer to remain silent" - said Khakimov.
"When in the past two years by the instruction of authorities have been carried out so-called repeated medical examinations of the people with disabilities, which was humiliating for many of them, when the pensioners are massively sent to the "rest" with a meager pension, our unions also keep silent" - stressed Khakimov.
He is convinced that today''s unions in Tajikistan can do nothing without an instruction from above. "While in the field of social protection of working people, according to the law norms, they are endowed with the greater power than the president and the government together," - said deputy chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
