Dushanbe. 2 September. “Asia Plus” -- Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon on September 2 in Beijing met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As reports the press service of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the meeting were discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and topical issues.
"For Tajikistan China remains a reliable ally and trading partner, friend and good neighbor," - said Rahmon.
Xi Jinping said that the Chinese government will continue to support the development of Tajikistan. He stressed that China will comprehensively promote Tajikistan in a major project of building the economic zone of the Great Silk Road.
Chinese leader said that the project will be coordinated and coherent with the three strategic objectives of the Government of Tajikistan - energy independence, food security and the withdrawal of the country from communication deadlock.
Xi Jinping stressed that China is taking necessary steps to complete the reconstruction of the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog-Kulma-Karokurum roads and the construction of regional railway China-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran.
In addition, he said, "China is ready to work with Tajikistan to create a free economic zone."
After the meeting were signed three documents on cooperation: a memorandum between the governments of Tajikistan and China on the preparation of the quadripartite cooperation programs; agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and China on cooperation in technical and economic fields; the program of cultural exchanges between the culture ministries of Tajikistan and China.
Also in the presence of the Heads of two states were signed another two documents - an agreement on cooperation between the GSS "Amonatbank" and the China Development Bank, and an agreement on cooperation between the Khatlon Region and Henan Province of China for the construction of agro-industrial complex.
