Dushanbe. 7 September. “Asia Plus” -- In the afternoon on September 6, mobile operators turned off SMS service for the telephone subscribers.
The correspondent of "Asia-Plus" tried to get a comment from mobile operators, but he could contact only with call center of Tcell and MegaFon. The attendant reported that there is a problem and it is because of technical nature. The operators found it difficult to answer, when the service becomes available again.
Mobile companies have resorted to such a move on 10th of October last year, when there were rumors of a possible protest in Dushanbe. SMS service was turned on in the same day, after rumors of the meeting were not confirmed.
Now, it is possible that mobile operators have cut off SMS option because of the operations in the east of the country to neutralize the groups of General Defense Ministry Abduhalim Nazarov.
