DUSHANBE, September 10, 2015, Asia-Plus -- The US Embassy in Dushanbe has resumed normal business operations.

A source at the US Embassy says they suspended business operations only for one day on September 4, when armed incidents took place in Dushanbe and the Vahdat Township.

“The US Embassy resumed normal business operations on September 8, following the Labor Day holiday,” the source said.

The US Embassy in Dushanbe suspended its operations on September 4 following clashes between armed gunmen and Tajik police in Dushanbe.  The Embassy was closed, and official Americans were advised to shelter in place and not send children to school on September 4.

In a message released on September 5, the Embassy urged all US citizens to exercise caution and avoid large gatherings of people‎.  US citizens residing in or visiting Dushanbe were urged not to travel outside the city by road, due to ongoing law enforcement operations in the area around Dushanbe.
