DUSHANBE, October 20, Asia-Plus - A working meeting of heads of counternarcotics agencies from Central Asian states opened in Khujand, the capital of Sughd, today morning.
According to information from the Tajik Drug Control Agency’s (DCA) directorate, the meeting has brought together heads of drug control agencies and drug police from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Jaffar Ishoqi, an official with the Sughd drug control directorate, said that participants at the meeting are discussing issues related to expanding cooperation in discovering drug transportation channels. The meeting also focused on measures to combat transnational organized crime and organize and carry out joint operations.
