DUSHANBE, October 12, Asia-Plus - Raising awareness of local authorities, community leaders and non-governmental organizations on gender issues and the rights of women was the aim of an OSCE-sponsored magazine “Ravzana ba Jahon” (“Window to the World”) and website www.ravzana.tj that were be presented In Dushanbe today.
Aleksandr Sodiqov, Media Assistant at the OSCE Center in Dushanbe said, that the project aims to create favorable public environment for implementation of gender policy in Tajikistan. The magazine will inform local authorities, community leaders and women’s NGOs on gender issues and involve them in the process of implementation of the state gender policy.
The bimonthly magazine will have a circulation of 1,000 copies and will be available in Tajik.
The project, cosponsored with the United Nations Development Program and the Open Society Institute, is part of the OSCE Center’s broader efforts to support the developing gender media in Tajikistan.
