DUSAHNBE, October 5, Asia-Plus -- Candidate for president from the People’s Democratic Party (PDPT) and the Party of Economic Reforms have also connected enough number of signatures needed to register as candidate, according to the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER).
Muhibullo Dodojonov, a spokesman for the CCER, said the PDPT submitted to the central electoral commission lists of more than 510,000 signatures and the Party for Economic Reforms has to date collected more than 176 signatures to support its leader Olimjon Boboyev as candidate for president.
“However, representatives of these parties are continuing to collect signatures because the last date for submission of signatures is October 7,” Dodojonov said.
According to him, the Socialist and Communist parties have still to work a lot to collect enough signatures needed to register candidate. “Socialists have to date collected more than 77,000 signatures and Communists some 60,000 signatures,” the CCER spokesman said.
Dodojonov added that they have not yet received list of signatures from the Agrarian and Democratic parties.
It is necessary to collect some 160,000 signatures needed to register as candidate.
