DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus - In January-September 2006, officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) have intercepted 1,161 kilograms of drugs, including more than 405 kilograms of heroin.
The DCA press service said that some 465,000 bushes of wild hemp have been discovered and destroyed during ongoing “Poppy 2006” Operation this year.
Besides, officers from the Tajik counternarcotics agency have seized three explosives, 14 firearms and 914 bullets of different caliber so far this year.
40 joint operations carried out by DCA in cooperation with special services of Tajikistan, CIS states and Afghanistan have led to the seizure of more than a ton of drugs, including 446 kilograms of heroin.
