KULOB, September 4, Asia-Plus -- A regional contest among the best cooks from all 25 districts of Khatlon entitled “Pilaf-Khatlon 2006” will be held in Kulob on Tuesday, September 5.  

Khayrullo Tohirov, the head of the culture department of Kulob mayor’s office, has told Asia-Plus that cooks participating in the contest will compete with each other on cooking pilaf.  According to him, the contest winners will cook pilaf during celebrations to mark the 2700 ^th anniversary of the city of Kulob.  “2,700 coppers of pilaf are supposed are supposed to be cooked during the upcoming celebrations,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
