DUSHANBE, August 28, Asia-Plus - A play by Ato Hamdam entitled “Do Not Call Me Ostap” has been recognized the best this year.  

Mr. Abdughaffor Abdujabborov, the head of office of the Ministry of Culture, has told Asia-Plus that they annually conduct seminars to determine the best play of year.  

“This year, a five-day seminar on this subject has been held at the Iskaderkul resort in northern Tajikistan,” Deputy Culture Minister, Ibrohim Usmonov, said, noting that the seminar participants included critics, producers, playwrights, actors and theatre experts.

Nine plays have been submitted for consideration to the seminar.  “Do Not Call Me Ostap” by Ato Hamdam was recognized the best play of year.  A play by Ms. Mahajbony entitled “I Fall in Love” took the second place, and play by Ravshan Yormahmad entitled “The Dance” was rated third.  

The winners have been given prizes in money: 1,500 Somonis for the first place; 1,000 Somonis for the second place; and 700 Somonis for the third place..
