KULOB, August 28, Asia-Plus -- Last week, the tremor-affected people in the Qumsangir district receive humanitarian aid provided by the Vose district.
According to information from the Vose administration, the assistance included 100 kilograms of vegetable oil, 60 kilograms of meat, more than 600 “non” (Tajik national bread), and 3,600 Somonis.
Besides, mosques in the administrative center of Vose have collected 600 Somonis and handed over them to the commission for removal of the tremor’s effects.
As it had been reported earlier, at 5 in the morning, July 29 2006, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 (Richter scale) affected at least five settlements in the Qumsangir district, Panj jamoat, namely Dusti (the district center), village no. 6, village no. 8, Sholikori, and Zamini Nav. Another quake (magnitude 5) stroke at 15.57 the same day. The epicenter of the quake was 145 kilometers south of Dushanbe.
