DUSHANBE, December 14, Asia-Plus - An exhibition of works by known painter, our fellow-countryman Aleksandr Oqilov opened in the National Museum of Works by Peoples of the East in Moscow on December 13.
Aleksandr Oqilov is considered to be one of the most interesting modern painters featuring Central Asia, in particular Tajikistan.
Aleksandr Oqilov was born in Dushanbe in 1951. At present he lives and works Moscow. Since 1974, his works have been put on display in more than 40 various exhibitions in different countries across the world. Many of his works are kept in museums in Dushanbe and Moscow, as well as in private collections in Tajikistan, Russia, the United States, Sweden, Finland, France, Germany and Japan.
