KHUJAND, December 18, Asia-Plus  -- A contest, entitled Surudi Sol, to define the best song performer of the year will be held in Khujand on Thursday, December 21, according to the Sughd culture department.

Abdusharif Abdurahimov, leading specialist with the Sughd culture department, told Asia-Plus that performers aged 18 to 40 from all cities and districts of the province take part in this annual contest.  “The main objective of the competition is to find new talented singers and promote further development of Tajik national musical art,” Abdurahimov said.
