DUSHANBE, June 4, Asia-Plus -- Bactria Center in Dushanbe hosted the Sixth Handicrafts Fair with participation of craftsmen from six countries on June 2-3.
Valeria Tyumeneva, the head of the eco tourism department, ACTED Dushanbe Office, said that 40 craftsmen from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Iran had put on display their works at the fair.
According to her, the main objective of the fair was to promote further development craftsmanship as one of components of tourism in Tajikistan.
It is to be noted that the month of June is particularly rich in cultural events, and will have a special European taste. With support of the Delegation of the European Commission in Central Asia, Bactria has organized a Europe Day in the City Park of Dushanbe and a European Movie Week.
According to Bactria, this year, the European Week (June 1-7) is especially organized for all the children who have never had a chance to learn about the European Union, its activities and its role in Tajikistan, and about the different cultures and traditions of the member states of the European Union. The “Family event” Bactria has organized is dedicated to these children
The last but not least event in June is the Music Festival dedicated to music and all music fans that will be held in the City Park on June 23.
One of the aims of the Bactria Center is to promote cultural dialogue. With this purpose, Bactria welcomes all requests to organize and host cultural events at the Center.
