DUSHANBE, March 12, Asia-Plus -- It is still premature to speak about banning lip-synching in Tajikistan, Tajik composer and arranger Farhod Zikirov, who works with many known Tajik music groups, remarked in an interview with Asia-Plus on March 12.
According to him, many variety singers do not agree with government’s resolution prohibiting use of lip-synching. “I think we have not yet been ready for this,” said, Zikirov. “We do not have appropriate audio gear and our concert halls are not provided with equipment for live performances.”
As it had been reported earlier, by government’s resolution of March 5 it is prohibited to use lip-synching in artistic programs of national, provincial, city and district levels as well as in concerts, performances and wedding ceremonies. The resolution permits use of “minus records” (back tracking) but only in theatrical shows, studio recording of television programs and at stadiums.
