DUSHANBE, March 14, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s Russian Drama Theatre named after Vladimir Mayakovsky will stage a comedy “Five Wives of Khoja Nasreddin” in the International Festival of Russian Theatres that will be held in St. Petersburg from April 2-12.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Abduvudud Fayziyev, the deputy head of Tajikistan’s Russian Drama Theatre, said that their theatre had participated in the annual festival entitled “Meetings in Russia” already three times.
“The festival aims to promote strengthening of cultural ties with fellow-countrymen living outside Russia,” the deputy head said.
Russian theatres from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia will take part in the festival. Besides, the Russian theatres from France, Denmark, Israel and Sweden will also participate in the “Meetings in Russia” festival.
