DUSHANBE, March 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Presentation of an electronic catalogue of 500 Medieval Eastern manuscripts is being held at the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage named after Academician Abdughani Mirzoyev in Dushanbe today, press release issued by the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan) said.
The catalogue contains description of the manuscripts in Tajik, Russian and English languages with color photographs of miniatures from these rarities. This project is a first attempt to familiarize researchers with 500 manuscripts kept at the largest research centers of Tajikistan, including the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage within Tajikistan’s Academy of Sciences (380 manuscripts) and the national Firdavsi Library (120 manuscripts).
The event is staged by OSI/AF-Tajikistan in cooperation with the Institute of Oriental Studies and Written Heritage within Tajikistan’s Academy of Sciences.
