DUSHANBE, September 24, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- The Fourth two-day Forum of the Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is opening in Chisinau, Moldova today.

According to press release issued by the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC), the forum will bring together 450 representatives from the CIS states to discuss issues related to development of culture, science and education, media and publishing within the CIS area.  The forum participants include ministers of culture and education, academy of sciences presidents, as well as representatives of creative intelligentsia from the CIS states.

In parallel, a session of the International Association of Academies of Sciences will be held in Chisinau.

The source at the Academy of Sciences told Asia-Plus that Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences Khurshed Karimov is representing Tajikistan at the forum in Chisinau.

We will recall that the previous Third Forum of the CIS Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia was held in Dushanbe in September 2008.
