DUSHANBE, March 20, 2010, Asia-Plus -- This year, the main republican celebrations dedicated to the Navrouz Holiday took place in the Danghara district, Khatlon province on March 19. President Emomali Rahmon and visiting Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov attended the Navrouz celebrations in Danghara.
Rahmon and Berdymuhammedov cut a symbolic red ribbon of the Khurramshahr Park at the town of Danghara. One of attractions of the Khurramshahr Park is a new choikhona (Tajik national teahouse) built in traditional architecture style and equipped in tune with the times, according to presidential press service.
The presidents planted a tree each in the Khurramshahr Park as a token of eternal friendship between the two fraternal peoples.
Rahmon and Berdymuhammedov also attended a theatrical show that took place at the Danghara Central Stadium the same day.
After the festive concert, President Rahmon gave a dinner in honor of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov in the new choikhona in the Khurramshahr Park.
Various sports activities were organized in Danghara on occasion of the Navrouz festival. Horse racing and Buzkashi (goat grabbing) took place in Danghara on March 19. Besides, the republican gushtingiri (Tajik national wrestling) competition dedicated to the Navrouz Holiday was held in Danghara last Friday. 16 teams from all regions of the country gathered in Danghara for the gushtingiri competition.
A number of new facilities, including new building of Orienbonk’s branch, two five-story apartment buildings, lyceum, shopping center and renovated central park at the town of Danghara as well as brickworks in the village of Parkamchi, were inaugurated in the district on March 19.
