DUSHANBE, September 4, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- Expansion of bilateral cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and India was the focus of a meeting of the Tajik Culture Minister Mirzoshorukh Asrori with the Indian Ambassador to Tajikistan Asith Kumar Bhattacharjee that took place here on September 2, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).

Asrori and Bhattacharjee discussed a broad range of issues related to cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and India.

In the course of the talks, Tajik minister touched upon the issue of Tajik students studying in India and expressed a desire for a larger quota for Tajik students to India, the source at a MoC said.  Asrori also asked Indian diplomat for help in providing books in Hindi, Persian and English languages published in India for the Tajik National Library.

Mr. Bhattacharjee, for his part, expressed readiness to provide all kinds of support and help in expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries.
