DUSHANBE, March 24, 2011, Asia-Plus -- On March 23, Tajikistan opened a festival showcasing Iranian culture that will continue through March 27, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).
The source at a MoC says Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Mohammad Hosseini heading a 120-person Iranian delegation is currently in Dushanbe as part of the Days of Culture of the Islamic republic of Iran in Tajikistan.
In parallel, conferences, shows and exhibitions of photos, clothes and books as well as a number of poetic parties are being held here, the source said.
According to him, the festival also includes performances of various plays, including “Rustam and Isfandiyor” that will take place at the Russia Drama Theatre named after Mayakovsky in Dushanbe.
Iranian delegation is also scheduled to travel to the northern Sughd province, the source said, noting that such events promoted strengthening of ties and cooperation between Tajik and Iranian peoples in different fields.
