DUSHANBE, July 16, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated 1,000 books to the National Library of Tajikistan, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
The National Library of Tajikistan is expected to be put in commission in early September and the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information also plans to partially provide the main library of Tajikistan with computers.
Computers will be purchased in Dushanbe and handed over to the library before Tajikistan’s Independence Day, which is marked on September 9.
The National Library of Tajikistan will be put in commission in early September on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence. The country’s budget has reportedly allocated some 40 million U.S. dollars for construction of the library.
The library stock is expected to include 9 million books (scientific literature, political essays, textbooks, fiction and so forth).
