DUSHANBE, August 29, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Representatives of Tajikistan have been named among the top ten reciters of Koran.
The 19th international Koran recitation contest took place in Cairo, Egypt from August 21 to August 26 and two representatives of Tajikistan entered the top ten.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, more than 100 representatives from African, Asian and European countries took part in the contest and Abdullo Mahmadullo, 21, and Abdullo Rahmatov, 13, from Tajikistan were named among the top ten Koran reciters. They received prize money of 5,000 and 2,200 U.S. dollars respectively.
