DUSHANBE, December 5, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Biannual Handicraft Fair of the Bactria Cultural Center was held at the Ismaili Center in Dushanbe on December 3-4.
The Fair aims at preserving and developing handicraft traditions in Tajikistan.
This year, the Winter Handicraft Fair was organized by the Bactria Cultural Center under financial support of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Tajikistan through the Regional Art and Culture Program and the Embassy of Germany in Dushanbe and with organizational support from the National Association of Business Women, CESVI, GIZ and Tourism Development Center.
This year, crafts made by sixty handicraftsmen from different regions of the country were put on display at the fair.
Two performances were also presented to visitors at the end of each exhibition day: a traditional dance performance by “Padida” theatre on Saturday and a music concert by “Mizrob” on Sunday.
