DUSHANBE, December 14, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tuesday afternoon, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met in Berlin with representatives of Tajik Diaspora in Germany and a group of Tajik students studying at German universities.
According to the presidential press service, Rahmon called on representatives of Tajik Diaspora in Germany to take an active part in events dedicated to International Day of Nowruz, which will be marked next year in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, the Tajik head of state bestowed the Order of Dusti (Friendship) on three German researchers – Professor Manfred Lorenz, Professor Lutz Rzehak from Berlin University, and Dr. Gholam Jelani from Berlin University.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Professor Manfred Lorenz gave a presentation about “The Tajiks in the Mirror of History: From the Aryans to the Samanids” by Emomali Rahmon that was recently published in Germany in the German language.
