DUSHANBE, February 6, 2012, Asia-Plus -- The exhibition of paintings by Tajik artist Hakimjon Zavqibekov is on at the Swiss Cooperation Office in Dushanbe, and will last till February 8, 2012, press release issued by the Swiss Cooperation office said.
Hakimjon Zavqibekov was born on February 6, 1969 in Khorog, GBAO. As a child due to unavailability of seats in the kindergarten he would be frequently taken by his mother to the polyclinics she worked at as a nurse. The drawing skills he inherited from his father, a theater actor, and further developed them into painting.
At school Hakimjon was engaged in the art club of the House of Pioneers in Khorog. And in 1984, after graduation together with his sister he for the first time came to Dushanbe to enter the Olimov Art College, which he did and was enrolled to the pedagogical department.
In 1988 Hakimjon joined the Art school of Khorog as a teacher, where he worked until 1991 when he was hired by Aga Khan Foundation project “Educational healthcare” for the position of an illustrator.
In 2005 Hakimjon was transferred to the MSDSP office in Khatlon province and took up responsibilities of coordinating the educational healthcare project.
Since 2010 he has been working at the Public Organization “Azal” founded by the German Agro Action as a community mobilizer in Rasht Valley.
