DUSHANBE, November 11, 2013, Asia-Plus – A Tajik art party took place at the Intercultural Center ‘De Centrale’ in Ghent, Belgium on November 9.
According to the Tajik Embassy in Brussels, the event, dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence and the 21st anniversary of the 16th Session of the Supreme Council of Tajikistan, was organized by the Tajik Embassy and the Ghent Mayor’s Office.
A concert of Tajik known folk singer Davlatmand Kholov and an exhibition of Tajik national dress ‘chakan’ and ‘suzani’ (a type of embroidered and decorative tribal textile) were held in Ghent.
More than 300 persons, including researchers from a number of European universities, diplomatic mission accredited to Belgium, media and Tajik Diaspora, reportedly attended the event.
