DUSHANBE, June 1, Asia-Plus - In Tajikistan, practically each fifth child aged 5 to 14 is engaged rather than in labor than in studies, according to information from the UNICEF Country Office in Tajikistan. 

The majority of them are occupied with washing cars and selling packages; many of them are working as porters, etc.  

According to report on world population for 2005 prepared by the Washington-based organization Population Reference Bureau, children under 15 constitute 40 percent of Tajikistan ’s population.    

According to data of the State Committee for Statistics, the population of Tajikistan is had been 6,838,700 people by July 1, 2005 .
