DUSHANBE, November 13, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s Committee on Religious Affairs has received more than 700 Hajj applications by November 13, Idibek Ziyoyev, the head of the department for international ties of the Committee on Religious Affairs, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the deadline of accepting the Hajj applications is November 15. “We expect to receive some 3,000 applications for holy journey to Mecca and Medina from Sughd and Khatlon provinces in coming days,” Ziyoyev said, noting that the committee’s branches in the provinces have already prepared all necessary documents. “After receiving the documents we will begin processing visas for pilgrims,” the committee official said.
Ziyoyev noted that there are no restrictions on the number of pilgrims and anyone over the age of 18 who wishes may make the journey. Tajik pilgrims will travel by planes. They will fly to Saudi Arabia both from Dushanbe and Khujand.
