DUSHANBE, December 28, Asia-Plus - A two-day seminar dedicated to consider problems facing blind women opened in Dushanbe today.

The seminar is staged by Tajikistan’s Blind Society (organization entitled to speak on behalf of blind and partially sighted persons of the country) under support of the Asian Blind Union.

Kholmad Tengniyev, head of the Dushanbe Blind Society, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that more than 20 women with sight disabilities, representing regional blind people societies, are taking part in the seminar’s work, which aiming to discuss issues related to some legal aspects and gender quality.   

The seminar participants also include representatives from the committee for women’s affairs and family.
