DUSHANBE, May 14, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s Public Council will meet tomorrow at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe to discuss the RT Law “On Public Associations.”
According to the Public Council, the meeting is also aiming to discuss issues related to regulation of national traditions and rituals practiced by people as well as admittance of new members.
The Public Council of Tajikistan was established in 1996. Pro-government political parties and NGOs singed the Public Accord Agreement in a show of support for the ongoing peace process in the country. Later, signatories to the 1996 Public Accord Agreement renewed that document and representatives of other political parties signed the accord agreement.
The Public Council members now include political parties, public associations, ethnic communities and a number of NGOs.
