DUSHANBE, April 15, Asia-Plus -- Some 40 residents of Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district, whose residential buildings are to be pulled down, gathered near the president’s office in Dushanbe today at around 7:30 a.m. They tried to draw attention the leadership of the Tajik government’s attention to their problems. They requested for not evicting them.
According to some of them, they have repeatedly applied to the district authorities for solving that problem but their applications have not yielded any positive results.
The meeting lasted for not more than 15 minutes and police officers got them on a bus and took to the Ismoili Somoni police department.
