DUSHANBE, January 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Known Tajik children’s writer and poet also member of Tajik Writers’ Union Narimon Baqozoda died in Dushanbe yesterday, aged 74 after a long illness.
Baqozoda is author of dozens of books for children such as “Guldara,” “She’rho, Afsonaho, Chistonho,” “Surnaychi,” “Oshi Halol,” “Shah Hikoyati Pakhta,” “Alifboi Dilkusho”. The first collection of his verses for children was brought out in 1954.
Narimon Baqozoda was born on January 26, 1935 in the family of known journalist Abulato Baqozoda, who had worked with Tajik-language newspaper Ovozi Tojik (Voice of Tajik). Narimon Baqozoda received his early education in Samarqand before graduating in 1957 Tajik National University in Dushanbe.
In various years, Narimon Baqozoda worked with newspaper Tojikistoni Soveti , publishing house Irfon, children’s magazine Masha’l , and Tajik film studio.
