DUSHANBE, March 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev yesterday signed a resolution reorganizing the commission for minors’ affairs into the commission for child’s rights, Asia-Plus has learned from Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor.
The commission has been set up in line with the government’s resolution on providing child’s rights.
The mayor also charged heads of Dushanbe’s districts to set up similar commissions in their districts, the spokesman said.
The Dushanbe commission for child’s rights consists of representatives from the city education, health, and police directorates as well as the Dushanbe committee for family and women’s affairs.
