Issues of social protection of people with disabilities to be discussed tomorrow, May 22, at a roundtable “Mechanism of inclusion of people with disabilities into socio-economic and socio-political activity in Tajikistan” in Dushanbe.
The event is organized by UNDESA and UNDP Office in Tajikistan.
The goal of the roundtable is to study advanced experience in the field of social integration of people with disabilities and discuss a wide range of issues connected with social protection of disabled persons and possible signing of the Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities, UNDP Office in Tajikistan told AP.
Tajik Minister of Labor and Social Protection Mamadamin Mamadaminov and UN Resident Coordinator Alexander Zuev are expected to attend the event.
The roundtable is expected to bring together representatives of related ministries and departments, public organizations dealing with persons with disabilities, international non-governmental organizations.
